Denise Hazelwood

My name is Denise Hazelwood, but my friends call me Dee. I am currently a personal trainer, a fitness instructor, and I manage Gyms and Swimming pools for Freedom Leisure in the UK.

My goals are to be the best version of myself I possibly can be & in that process I want to be able to pass on my knowledge to others & inspire them to achieve their life’s goals. I have already had success on this front with many clients I train to achieve their body goals.

I am very proud to have played hockey internationally for Wales. I was also an Army physical training Instructor & during this time I was lucky enough to perform in front of the Queen & the Princess of Wales in the Festival of Remembrance at the Royal Albert Hall. I left the Army to join the Police, fulfilling my dream of becoming a Police Officer.

In 2019, after going into menopause early in life, I found my weight had slipped out of control. I found myself on the morbidly obese spectrum. With the help of Livia, I shed 6 stone & fulfilled another dream of becoming a fitness-figure competitor. I went on to win my first competition as a Novice & took 3rd place the year after in the UFE European championships. I continue today to work out & I still compete.

When I am not working or training, I love spending time with my family & friends & 3 dogs. I love the outdoors and travelling. Mostly I just like to laugh & have fun.

I live life as if tomorrow is never granted. I will try anything once & I will definitely let you know if I won’t be doing that again!
