Health & Behaviour Coach MSc

I use my skills, qualifications and insights from having experienced extreme health challenges in my life, (the kind of challenges you may be going through now) to support the physical and emotional impact of menopause. These challenges are often ignored, underfunded or inaccessible after experiencing health-related challenges. I can help you to identify what is holding you back and how you can successfully let go of the trauma and move forward with your journey to better health and more positive life.

I have 35 years of experience as a certified coaching professional in a career that started as an Army Physical Training Instructor. After that, I successfully set up and eventually sold my training studio in Manchester that specialised in Personal Training and Lifestyle coaching. In 2010, I set up a multi-million-pound turnover retail company and sold this in 2014.

In 1994 I was diagnosed with advanced cervical cancer, and the treatment sent me into early menopause at 26. I recovered, but the physical and emotional scars remained, and I set out on a quest to find ways to support my well-being.

In 2008 my health was once again challenged when I was diagnosed with a brain tumour. Surgery to remove the tumour left me disabled, unable to walk and with cognitive challenges, including epilepsy. I realised then that to move forward I had to let go of the trauma and find a way to look for the opportunity I had now. I began the slow six years of rehabilitation to get back on my feet. During this time, I qualified as a Master NLP (Neuro-linguistic Practitioner), Timeline Therapist and Hypnosis Therapist.

I also decided to help others struggling with brain injury and stroke rehabilitation. I studied with the ARNI Institute (Action for Rehabilitation from Neurological Injury) as a FRETS Instructor (Functional Rehabilitation & Exercise Training after Stroke). I have always been interested in human behaviour and the resilience we must call upon to reorganise our thoughts and actions. Change can happen when we recognise repeat negative behaviours, and with a few strategic changes, this can have a real impact and be positively life-changing.

I wrote “Finding the Other Me”, available on Amazon, to tell my story and encourage others to embrace change, let go of who they were, and discover who they are right now.
